Pros

Great group of people to work with. Very flat organizational structure. Overall I enjoyed my time and experience here. Although grocery retail market may be challenging, Metro seems to do a good job keeping up with the competition.

Career advancement may be limited, but only because they run a lean operation

Flexible schedule. Some of the managers do a good job. Some of the customers are very nice.

Cons

The pay was very low for part-time staff. The raises come in insulting 5-10 cent increments and they only come about once a year. They never schedule enough cashiers and scheduled cashiers are forced to rush and deal with angry customers. They frequently cut hours. Customers are routinely angry because of long lines, inefficient processes, etc which cashiers are forced to deal with. POS systems are old and inflexible. No employee discount of any kind. Absolutely zero pride in work. Lack of common sense from management.
