Little responsibility, little supervision, little pay, no advancement

Easy job with little supervision. You just show up and load the store with whatever product is needed at that moment or help set up the stock room in the back. Repetitive and simple. No real responsibility, easy for students.

Cons

Not much room for advancement and no wage increases. Friend of mine worked there for 7 years and still made minimum wage.

Pros

- a lot of busy work that makes the time go by quickly - an apparent satisfying benefits package that I never got because I'm part time - vacation time for full timers - a lot of hours - the food from the hot case is pretty good to buy for your breaks - they pay you for the first 15 minutes break you get - potential for up to $25/hr CAD

Cons

- my supervisor abused us verbally but there was nothing we could do because the chain of command - customers are snobby and rich - management would rather make a rude customer happy than an employee - it's kind of depressing being trapped in a grocery store all day - upper management would come in every now and then and criticize how I do my job for no reason - no discount whatsoever
