Pros

Big company that's not going anywhere. Fair pay and benefits. Good opportunity for advancement provided you are well liked. Work life balance is ok, and depending on your manager, they can be very fair. Can work remotely although that seems to be in jeopardy right now. Location isn't too bad. Some smart people working there and the opportunity for productive teamwork is high (depending on whom you are working with). Most of the people (at a certain level) are good, friendly, caring people that are willing to help.

Cons

Current Senior management basically clueless and care little for the worker bees. Cronyism is running rampant at Met. Worker morale is very low at this point and for good reason. Many jobs are being outsourced and people are scared for their livlihoods.

Pros

Met Life treats its employees very well. From the paid time off policy to the medical, dental, disability benefits it provides (with high employer contribution rates. The retirement package is fantastic! Most employers contribute 3% of salary (assuming you contribute at least 6%). Met Life is much more generous with its contribution rates. In addition, Met Life provides each employee with a "cash balance" pension plan. So, if an employee decides to leave, they can take this with them.

Cons

Met Life is a HUGE company! Although there are many positives that come from that, it can (and does) create lot of bureaucracy. Legal approval is required on EVERYTHING!!!
