Pros

MetLife has the best products in the industry to sell, and reps have access to a lot of the best insurance products and annuities of other companies as well.

Cons

There is no minimum salary for Financial Advisor, so it is totally sink or swim. They provide some leads and some current clients to cross-sell, but you must sink out a large majority of clients on your own somehow.

Pros

If you have a good management staff and are willing to cold call and sell insurance until you build your practice this place is not a bad place to start.

Cons

My management staff, starting with the director, used our firm as a way to make themselves rich. They have since been terminated, or quit, but it is very easy for anyone to fall into this situation. Use your instincts, ask probing questions during the interview process, if you get vague answers something is wrong.
