Pros

There are a lot of great people working in IT, and most are team oriented. Compensation, Benefits, work schedules, and flexibility are all very good.

Cons

Since the company went public, corporate culture seems has changed and the employees have taken a back seat to investors. Employees in IT are generally limited to one area of expertise, limiting exposure to that one skill set. This makes it difficult to change jobs, as most companies are looking for a broader range of experience. Metlife employees call this the silo effect.

Pros

Health insurance and employee benefits. Hourly staffs are hard workers.

Cons

Recruiting staffs are not qualified enough to master hiring process in-house. In addition, pay raises are rare. There is always a change in executive vision at Corporate (NY); so filtering vision and mission down to DFW firm level results to zero directions and lack of support to Financial advisors to run their business. Financial products and life insurance products are old school mentality still. Marketing support to Financial advisors are limited since Corporate killed off all Marketing Division across the board nationally. As a result to all, low employee morale and office culture is non-existence.

Pros

Pleasant surroundings, decent salaries, and good resources to learn on line.

Cons

With the new CEO, senior staff is being forced out. There's a great loss of institutional history. Strategy seems to be only on short term stock price. It's not the same company that was known for true expertise. A lot of that is gone.
