Pros

Good Insurance and that's about it.

Cons

Employees are literally crying at their desks some days. No work Life balance, no training, moving up is more work and less pay (NO OT) . Enviroment is toxic. Technology outdated. Turnover is extremely high. Mercer outsourcing is the red headed step child of Mercer Consulting and they have no clue.

Pros

Mercer offers a respectful, professional environment for developing talent, and potential experience is abundantly available to the opportunist. My colleagues are talented and dedicated to their work and their clients. There is a sense of comeraderie between many of the staff, especially among those who pull long / late hours. I look forward to going to work every day. Mercer is still a well-known and respected name. Our new CEO recently overturned the unpopular incentive pay program that forced managers to use a fixed distribution for their employees' performance ratings.

Cons

"Profitable growth" is the buzzword most often repeated by Mercer's new chiefs, a term which means higher revenue targets with minimal or no expense growth. For several years, expense restrictions throttled pay raises and bonuses, minimized or eliminated budgets for new hires, reduced employee benefits and perks, and so forth. Upper management seems more focused on Wall Street than clients or colleagues. The Louisville office is relocating into a tighter office at a more expensive address.
