Pros

The welfare is great, you can go to free gyms to work out and there is a bus that sends you to work.

Cons

The job is a bit boring while you file paper everyday and doesn't see the end. The work is too lame.

Pros

Opportunities for professional development. Exposure to cultural diversity. Interesting and varies assignments. International chances.

Cons

Rigid, Kafka-esque policies. Navigating hierarchical top-down-driven silos. Clear preference in international assignment for German expatriates, few opportunities for foreign inpatriates. Occasional arrogance of German colleagues, in terms of judgements of working habits of indigeneous employees (a.k.a. the German way of doing stuff must be better because our company and other German companies are very successful internationally). Endlessly analyzing issues to death rather than analyzing enough / acting. Too much rhetoric regarding customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction. Too much cost-saving focus on the easy stuff (employee salaries & benefits, travel, mobile phone bills, etc.) and not enough on the hard stuff - product development costs, supplier management, supply chain management. Too many strategic initiatives & projects launched without proper execution & follow-up, failed projects are not constructively closed, rather are allowed to die quiet deaths or return repackaged as Zombies some time later.

Pros

International exposure, opportunity to see many of the Daimler locations worldwide. Exposure at higher levels of management. High level of autonomy with regards to scope of your individual 15-18 month CAReer program. Opportunity to learn several different fields & functions, a rare opportunity to experience various jobs in order to see what you enjoy/dislike or find a talent you didn't know you possessed/lacked. Great opportunities for networking within Daimler by meeting so many trainees from around the world.

Cons

High amount of travel could be inconvenient for some. Pay is not as high as at some companies, especially coming out of business school (however what you lack in pay you get in international experiences/travel & the opportunity to try multiple job functions). The position is theoretically a fast track to a management position with higher pay, if you don't make manager though your salary will remain low.
