- Good starting salary for MTTs. - Some staff in Mecon are really good and helpful. - Secure job (PSU in India). - Nice location. - Self learning due to lack of standard and structured guidelines engineers makes you more aware than your peers in companies which are more organized.

Cons

- Most of the staff in Senior Management are obstinate and truculent; there are ego clashes all the time. - Lack of standard and structured guidelines makes every simple project task a challenge for its engineers and as a result the entire project suffers. - Poor work-life balance. - No compensation for working overtime or during weekends. - Life becomes worse if you are posted on-site: you are expected to work all shifts with minimal compensation. - Too much internal politics and group-ism: Don't be surprised if your boss asks "Who told you to do this task?" rather than appreciating or criticizing the quality of your work.

Good work life balance at design offices. Intellectual peer group and managers. Good leave policy. One of the few non-site jobs for civil engineers if placed at design office

Cons

Crazy shift timings at construction sites. Some design engineers made site engineers. Not a Maharatna/Navratna company unlike SAIL or NMDC.
