Good for people interested in site jobs & learning many things regarding steel, oil& gas & power sector, Perks (free education for children @ head office Ranchi ), Nice colony life @ head office only , Seniors are approachable, Lots of social events

Cons

Politics at every level, You will be in perpetual headache whether you will be posted at some remote location, Lots of buttering is done by employees, no latest technologies followed, bills are not cleared in time, lots of time wasted in clearing information, lack of proactive employees

Good work life balance if posted at design office (Ranchi/New Delhi/Benguluru). Starting pay is higher compared to some other PSUs. Colleagues with good knowledge and from premier institutes.

Cons

Consulting mainly focussed on steel plants- due to which, travel and stay in remote areas will be almost inevitable.
