DO NOT rock this boat!!!

Pros

McCain pays well and has good benefits, especially within the industry. They are a big, global company with lots of opportunities, if you are willing to move around. And, if you are willing to play by their rules, you can make a very long career here.

Cons

This company is the textbook example of "do not rock the boat". They have been around a long time and they want employees who are willing to play by their rules. What they do NOT like is anyone who dares to question the corporate mantra or direction. They do NOT want out of the box thinking or even a mere difference of opinion. DO NOT go to work for this company if you thrive on making improvements or change. They want you to do your job quietly in your corner, and not much else.

Run!!!!!

Pros

The pay was decent and the 6% 401k match is great if you can stand to stay there for 3 full years. Work day of 8-4:30, but nobody really watches over when you come and when you go.

Cons

Complete lack of leadership, organizational structure, and processes. Nobody seems to really know what they are doing or why they are doing it. The organization is run in an extremely lean fashion so you basically are on your own to figure out what your job responsibilities are and how you are supposed to complete them because nobody knows what or how the previous person did anything. Roles are not well defined. You could be hired in a finance role and you'll be expected to do finance, administration, marketing, sales, supply chain, and procurement without any direction or oversight. A lot of passive aggressive people that don't really want to help including managers and directors.

Toxic culture in Procurement

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Family owned, growth business with some good culture but not in procurement.

Cons

Procurement is ONLY focused on dollars saved. Dog eat dog culture only focusing on hard savings targets with no value for relationship development or business continuity. Even if you meet your goals (which are set with no context, top down), you still maybe put on performance plan and exited. The department has +40% turnover, with aggressive leaders who have no accountability. Take your time and think deeply before joining, the risk is very high.
