Pros

The people in Florenceville are wonderful. There is an open door policy and everyone, including senior management, is very approachable. Benefits in Canada are also good.

Cons

With so much management turnover, strong and loyal employees have fallen through the cracks. The company would rather hire externally than invest and develop their own staff. They have also let go some of the best leaders we ever had. Those who survived the cuts are also leaving in droves. Right now, every employee has a slot, and if you don't love exactly what you're doing, there is no hope to do anything different. The company uses its employees and dangles opportunities in front of them, only to take them away, with no explanation. Leadership direction is coming from Toronto and Chicago and UK, and everyone has their own style. There is no consistency. The other reviews are accurate: not the company it once was, chasing the flavour of the week, barely meets industry standard for salary and a lack of strategic direction. It's all about cost cutting and doing more with less, but there is only so much that employees can take before they burn out.

Pros

Nice people, good products, Canadian, private co.

Cons

Ineffective people, product portfolio not uniformly good, being taken over by US and UK management, acting like a public company (very risk averse)

No Direction

Pros

Tries to be competitive in the benefits arena but is reviewing cuts all the time.

Cons

Poor direction from all levels; complete turnover of senior management; multiple changes in direction and demands of production facilities; focus on potatoes and no investment in other aspects of the business; employees with longevity and loyalty leaving in droves; no trust in senior management - based on what they say and what they do.
