Pros

Outdoor work environment, getting to develop relationships with suppliers, production staff, and corporate personnel. This company has a strong customer base, thus allowing for decent job security.

Cons

Raw product buying group is grossly underpaid for the work they do, and their many contributions made to the organization. There is no motivation to encourage suppliers or employees to follow along with changing policies/directives other than keeping your job if you have no where else to go.

Pros

The people in Florenceville are wonderful. There is an open door policy and everyone, including senior management, is very approachable. Benefits in Canada are also good.

Cons

With so much management turnover, strong and loyal employees have fallen through the cracks. The company would rather hire externally than invest and develop their own staff. They have also let go some of the best leaders we ever had. Those who survived the cuts are also leaving in droves. Right now, every employee has a slot, and if you don't love exactly what you're doing, there is no hope to do anything different. The company uses its employees and dangles opportunities in front of them, only to take them away, with no explanation. Leadership direction is coming from Toronto and Chicago and UK, and everyone has their own style. There is no consistency. The other reviews are accurate: not the company it once was, chasing the flavour of the week, barely meets industry standard for salary and a lack of strategic direction. It's all about cost cutting and doing more with less, but there is only so much that employees can take before they burn out.
