Pros

Still very much a UK culture in the London office, notwithstanding the merger is now nearly 20 years old. Friendly staff by and large. Work is decent.

Cons

Still working out the mix of US/UK influence.

Pros

There are people that are not good to work with, and people that are. There are perhaps more good-to-worth-with people here than at other large firms. Salary is market although benefits tend to be lean (i.e., no 401k matching).

Cons

Work-life balance is the same or worse than at other large law firms. It is a service industry, even those in senior positions need to make large lifestyle sacrifices. "Free market" system is more narrative than truth.
