Pros

Nice HQ facilities and amenities. Located in beautiful Purchase, NY. Great pay and benefits. Interesting people to work with and diversity is prevalent.

Cons

Only the selected few are successful at MC. Org. structure has too many layers of middle management (SBLs and Group Heads) who are out of touch with the needs and issues of the company. Processes and systems are very backward, and it takes forever to get anything done. Too much politics and favoritism - it appears a core group of people are recycled or moved around and giving opportunities to advance their career. The culture is one of fear and retaliation resulting in a complacent attitude and fear of making changes or improvements. The company is constantly laying off and reorganizing without any future goal in mind. This creates a culture of chaos and constant upheaval not to mention the low moral it creates among the employees. Fire drill demands and unrealistic workloads are an everyday occurrence. Oh I can go on... but I'll stop here.

Pros

Health insurance, pension, wellness program. Relaxed office with perks like snooker table, games console, free coffee.

Cons

Disorganised. The term 'Agile' is thrown about but is seems to mean everyone working in completely undefined roles and working in a completely unstructured way. Expect to work on things that you weren't hired for - e.g., you might be hired as an app developer and then be expected to do DevOps or QA work as there is nobody serving that function. Meetings can go on for hours and sometimes involve the most senior people in the room shouting at each other. It markets itself as a software company but is far from it in reality.

Pros

Interesting projects and innovation going on in some groups

Cons

Wow so disappointing and so far from my expectation. With 15 years of success in payments industry I don't think I ever felt as u devalued and under utilized as I did during my time at MC. The whole experience was so odd. I've worked for startups and huge co's but the leadership here was really bad (some) with lots of people with very little experience outside of MC, which is so unfortunate be because they don't appreciate varied talents and backgrounds. I noticed high turnover and lots of colleagues looking for other jobs and would notice no one was real, they all spoke like stepford wives about the company like they were worried someone was listening. Just so odd and so not a place I would recommend unless you really get an awesome group and boss, which there were some I encountered
