Pros

Benefits such as 401k, sick leave, etc

Cons

Some of the upper management is bias. For example the last 8 promotions in my dept have been in India teams only, while people on USA teams are told “there’s no budget for promotions”. Great place to work if Indian, otherwise don’t expect a promotion. Mandatory 3 days in office is ridiculous, especially when there’s 2 people for every desk. So many times people can’t find a parking spot and have to come back later. Or if they find a spot, they have no open desk. And yet they monitor everyone’s badging in/out. 12+ hour work days, so much micro managing. Been with MC a long time, since Ajay left the company has become worse. They have employee surveys and many complain about the in office policy but upper management changes nothing.

Pros

Good benefits, summer Fridays, 401k. In general people are collaborative and pleasant to each other.

Cons

Management is interested only in shipping jobs to lower cost locations. Morale of U.S. employees is low. Certain parts of the company feel like a cartel and you have to be in the in-club, where it is more important to be liked than be good at what you do, Organization culture is more like a traditional financial company than a technology company.

Pros

Some of the people are super skilled and very capable.

Cons

Too many Directors, real lack of progression. Partial performance reviews without clarity on next steps. Lots of male leadership. Insufficient women representation in senior roles. Recent hiring in Pune has displaced jobs but it has not been dealt with transparency and professionalism. Quiet firing on the rise by sudden changes of responsibilities and teams being reorganised without consulting Directors who are Senior managers within the organisation and teams who'd be impacted. Mastercard Way talks about great values but several of the senior leaders don't live it. It's like someone has a checkbox to make cost savings, the person is then sidelined until they leave or released with minimal notice, details or paid for the inconvenience. Not a company to invest time and effort in.
