-Too much pressure to sign people up for credit cards with high interest rates for no additional commissions per card
-Little support from management when dealing with unreasonable customers
-Unrealistic expectations for customer service (managers will SEND CUSTOMERS TO MY REGISTER EVEN WHEN I DON’T PRESS THE CALL BUTTON OR I’M LEAVING TO USE THE BATHROOM OR LEAVE FOR THE DAY
-Management will frequently leave the registers/back counter under stocked with supplies needed for me to do my job efficiently (lack of tape or paper to wrap fragile products, tagging guns, tickets, etc.) and give me grief for temporarily leaving to retrieve said items MYSELF
-When dealing with difficult customers, management will throw me under the bus and make me look incompetent to give them what they want (ie: giving them a discount for an item that should not be discounted according to COMPANY POLICY, and apologizing to the customer even when I just told them that item couldn’t be discounted according to the policy. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A COMPANY POLICY IF COORDINATORS CAN JUST GIVE ANY ENTITLED CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT??? It shows a lack of respect and support for us Cashiers and throws us under the bus. I could get written up for a bad review from a customer for something like this even though I was doing the right thing!!!
