Pros

Great Coworkers but overall terrible place to work

Cons

They’ll pay you the minimum when you work there and when the seasonal people come back they pay them more. Managers will treat you terrible if they don’t like you, will over work you and make you do others jobs when they get lazy. They’ll put you in uncomfortable situations with your coworkers. They say they have flexible hours but when you need to change your schedule give you problems. When I worked there they let a older lady who had worked there for many years bully and scream at another older woman to the point where she was sobbing she also was making fun of her accent and they did nothing about the older woman who bullied her.

Pros

It is an okay job for someone who is in high school, or needs a temporary job until they can get another job. Once you have proven yourself as a worker your 20/40 hours a week are guaranteed. Most of the older employees worked on the floor or in the backrooms. Mainly because they too are very much annoyed with the constant credit pushing. In my time there, every employee was nice to each other, no catty stuff or drama despite the majority of the staff being in high school. At the very worst you'll grow to dislike the coordinators and managers. Plenty of employee holiday celebrations. It really is a great environment, but the credit sales and managers can definitely make someone leave almost immediately.

Cons

Worked here for a little more than two years. One thing I will say is they are absolutely insane about pushing for credit sales if you work front end cashier. They quite literally badger associates about it and want associates badger customers. Management is a revolving door because of this (that and the fact that you will absolutely get thrown under the bus for underwhelming credit lines opened.) Another problem with the revolving door of managers, as they can be kind of annoying because of all the pressure on them. If you are not the store manager's favorite you absolutely will know it. Some managers won't even know your name because their most favorite employees are the ones that are saving their butts from cooperate.

Pros

Flexible hours….thats all I have to say for pros. A lot of hours during Christmas.

Cons

Working at Marshall’s has taught me that this is NOT for everyone. This position is for people with over the top patience. Not for customers, but the managers, workers, etc. the job is fun at first because they’re just training you, you’re learning slow, but once a month go by that’s it, you’re a slave at its highest peak. I don’t recommend Marshall’s for introverts, or anyone looking for a little easy job. Unless you say you want to work in the back. I honestly don’t mean to be brutal about this, I just have gone through so much mentally just with Marshall’s and my mental health took a huge turn throughout the time of me working here. If your schedule says you’re leaving at 9-10 pm good luck , they’re keeping you until 11
