Pros

Vacation time is great, medical/dental/vision benefits are pretty good, ability to work from home when necessary, and expense account for rare occassions.

Cons

Marsh does not value young talent nor diversity. There are no diversity initiatives, little to know mentorship by senior level management. This is a company that runs on "who you know" and "familial ties". It's hard to get ahead based on the merit of your work. There is little to no incentive to continue to do a "great job". I would not suggest Marsh as a place to work; especially for entry level people.

Pros

MMC is a great place to get good quality commercial insurance brokerage experience. Experience at MMC (especially the Risk Analyst program if you're entry level) and a good personality should make you a viable candidate at any other insurance company or commercial insurance firm.

Cons

The downsides differ depending on what department you work for. The best income potential would come in the property and casualty departments. Sometimes people in these departments get a big head and can be a pain in the ass to deal with.
