Corporate Headquarters in Orlando used to be a great place to work...
Pros
Benefits, discounts, travel opportunities, collaboration with other talented and dynamic professionals. 15 years at the corporate level. Leadership on my immediate team was wonderful but eventually moved on to other companies and/or competitors. Executive leadership was approachable and well-regarded. Prior to the spin-off from Marriott International this was a great organization to work for.
Cons
After the spin-off the overall work environment and morale within some departments changed. Many talented individuals slowly but surely left for other companies and, in some cases, to work for competitors. One female colleague on my floor was notorious for being difficult to work with and for and while her colleagues and subordinates continued to drop like flies she continued to push for her own promotion and salary increase. HR seemed to overlook her sporadic hours, propensity to frequently peruse social media and shop online because "no one else could do her job." When work she was responsible for wasn't completed she would consistently blame others on her team. Her reputation for not only bullying her colleagues and subordinates but also arriving late and leaving early was noticed by everyone and yet nothing was done because her own manager was too emotional to properly address her transgressions as he should have. Based on what I currently know, the same problems continue to persist and, again, nothing is done. My team would observe from afar and shake our heads. She was (and evidently still is) so out of control and yet others who worked hard suffered her wrath. HR has become a joke with other Associates within the organization.
