Pros

Flexible hours, growing rapidly, FUN environment, great staff members (coworkers and management), traveling to new locations, personal growth, and all the awesome discounts and benefits! Main Event has been a great job and now a career for me. The management staff has always had my best interest in mind and I couldn't be more grateful.

Cons

Learning how to transition into a nationwide company rather than just in the state of Texas has been a little rocky but nothing we can't fix.

Pros

-Flexibility in scheduling -Great staff -Fun management team - Great environment - Growth opportunity if willing to stick around - Employee Discounts on products and activities

Cons

-Low starting pay, it's a entry level hourly, meaning minimum wage as a departmental employee. - Long hours, often times you will work into the wee hours of the morning, say good bye to a social life if you want to try and work full time. - Customers can be awful, its a place for cheap entertainment at times because regular hours are competitively priced. Way to expensive for a family to go more than once a month without a special to help drive down the initial upfront cost. Often times that means cheap service since you can't staff a building of your PPA is below normal rates. - Upper management can be non-existent and seeks little to no insight from operational managers for LTO improvement and daily operational improvements. -Bonus structure is nice, but not worth the hours you put in as a salaried manager. At most you MIGHT see an extra 4 grand a year from your bonuses, with a max cap of 15% of your regular salary if you consistently over perform. - Nothing to increase moral of management or staff, no sponsored events, recognition parties happen only when budget constraints allow and are always on property. -Merit increase for hourly staff is only once a year, and no "exceptional" raises are allowed outside the normal merit increase cycle. Seems like you have to at times threaten to quit before a raise is even considered,

Pros

Working with parties means you get a lot of experience handling kids and parents, so communication skills really get built upon. At least in the location I worked at, you can make good money through tips since these party packages are expensive. It's a good side gig to make money as a student all things considered.

Cons

Management sucks. They don't really care to prioritize your party's needs which means parents get mad at you, and it's hard to deescalate. There's not good communication between management and the party host department, and they don't really care to include you in department discussions so you're always the last to know about new updates and changes. You might not get many hours since it depends on the booked parties.
