Pros

Talented artists, friendly good vibe amongst artists. Artists care about their work, and their co-workers. Solid pipeline.

Cons

Coordinators and producers are clueless about the process of vfx making them extremely unpleasant to work with. NO OT FOR ARTISTS. Bought by a huge corporation making environment far from stress-free. Management either fires or lets all the good, smart people and the ones that care go. Very strict on working hours and clocking in and out. Junior artists seemingly have a hard time increasing pay levels and moving up in position.

Pros

Great people. You can work with very talented artists from around the world on amazing projects. A lot of people are promoted starting as runners. Opportunity to grow for people who want to break in the industry as they hire a lot of juniors. The location is a very nice place. Vancouver is a great city where to live.

Cons

Management could be better. The organization is not obvious at first sight with department teams, project teams and top management. You could have to deal with a manager but report to another one and be evaluated by a third one. Depending on your department you could work crazy overtime or not at all... Depending on your show and the supervisor and producer you have, you will have a very different management style. Only a few people have been there more than 2 years. There is a lot of turnover in every department. Vancouver is great but very expensive.
