Pros

Excellent vacation time accrual, maternity leave benefits, tuition assistance plan, and a very conveniently located MIT Medical for health insurance.

Cons

Unfortunately there's not much room for growth, but it all depends in the lab or group that you work for. They should implement a review system for higher management.

Pros

MIT is a great place to work; people are all around top-notch, work hard mentality but also a lot of freedom. We get a lot of vacation, and I even get $5,000+ a year to spend on tuition which I use at Harvard Extension School. I also took a bioengineering class through MIT's Advanced Study Program for free. There's always some sort of education/social event going on (free food!). They also subsidize your T pass over 50%, so my commute costs me only $35/month.

Cons

Only thing is that the pay is pretty low. Other than that I can't think of any cons.

Pros

You get to work with the smartest people on the planet who are become your close friends and family. The projects are amazing and you get a decent amount of freedom to do whatever you like. MIT covers your tuition and the networking really helps advance your career in the future. Definitely this is the place to be if you are wanting to accomplish something big.

Cons

Nothing major worth mentioning. I love my lab!
