Pros

MIT provides graduate students with challenging environment to do independent research. MIT has a broad courses that students can benefit from.

Cons

Cold weather is the major cons. If you want to attend graduate school at MIT, make sure cold weather is not your obstacle.

Pros

The Sasisekharan lab was the best lab that I could have ever worked for. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, accepting, and helpful. They were good people. Everyone worked really hard and together. It was a real community even though people were working on separate projects. Also, the spirit of MIT is just great in itself.

Cons

Nothing. It might be nice to have more cheap, good places to eat for lunch even though there are already a lot.

Pros

Great colleagues that are always willing to help out and provide advice. Freedom to pursue own research interests (if adviser lets you) Lots of resources when needed, never felt constraint by lack of resources

Cons

Hours can be long and unpredictable. Actual situation very dependent on research advisers. Some infrastructure (office and lab-space out-dated).
