Pros

I'm completing a research assistantship in the department of Economics and I got a glimpse into what it's like working in academia. I also gained valuable coding skills and have the opportunity to contribute towards a paper that will be submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals. It is very exciting and rewarding to get to have these responsibilities as an undergraduate.

Cons

It's a steep learning curve, especially if you're one of the only research assistants, but it is definitely worth it.
