Pros

Great colleagues that are always willing to help out and provide advice. Freedom to pursue own research interests (if adviser lets you) Lots of resources when needed, never felt constraint by lack of resources

Cons

Hours can be long and unpredictable. Actual situation very dependent on research advisers. Some infrastructure (office and lab-space out-dated).

-Work environment can be very intense -Stipend increases don't always keep up with increase in cost of living -Recent increase in crime around campus -Parking is difficult on campus
