Pros

Working as a research assistant while finishing your Ph.D. serves two purposes at the same time. You get to have a doctorate degree from a world class institution and you get to work with some of the best minds in the country. The compensation and the schedule are extremely convenient and aids your pursuit of the degree without any worries or distractions.

Cons

The competition might sometimes be overwhelming, but it helps you improve in the long run.
