Pros

Good collaboration. Prestigious place to work..

Cons

Old people don't leave thereby not allowing career progression so good employees leave. Managers and faculty who verbally abuse employees are not held accountable. The university makes excuses for them. Old timers are blocking the careers of many others below them. Pay is terrible. No innovation except with students.

Pros

Academic vivacity. Collegial and intellectual enthusiasm. Good benefits. Strong job security.

Cons

Paucity of management and leadership skills. Isolated clusters of power, based on ego and attention for central funding, compounded by a lack of hierarchical conflict resolution. Singular focus on academic leadership and research dollars, with little awareness or support of administrative and business infrastructure.
