Seems Cool on the Surface, but Mired in Obsolete Processes and Thinking

- get to work on cool applications such as space robotics for human spaceflight, planetary rovers, scientific instruments

Cons

- a dearth of actual interesting technical work and opportunity to innovate. A lot of paperwork, needlessly complex processes and procedures. - Pay is not competitive. Some "passion exploitation" where the company knows they can pay an employee less than market rates for the "privilege" of working in the space sector - the commute is terrible and the company enforces a strict 3-day in-office policy where you don't get to choose which days are on site, defeating the purpose of a hybrid schedule (which is to select in-office days around your life)

Benefits package was good, and an option to buy stock in company (however, the stock price keeps falling). Interesting products and services I helped support.

Cons

Management kept piling on work Salaries are horrendously low for the industry Do not replace employees that have left the company Continue to work on a shoestring budget for overhead (non-profitable departments)
