Pros

The pay is actually better than most places. Also if you are of the favorites they will find ways of promoting you even with out the specific requirements. I love the products and the svc that is offered. When it comes to customers they almost NEVER say no.

Cons

The managment is complete unattached to their employees. They do not follow up on complaints. And they play favortism. When do place a complaint it is really hard to get any action on it or to push your management to follow up. Unless it has to do with money and the bottom line they take their own sweet time.

Pros

Compensation is OK for beginners. Benefits are good which include health, dental, vision and 401K plan. It is a national company, which means you have an opportunity to move around the country if you choose to do so, job security. You have to enjoy those 1 hour lunch breaks. Mostly hard working and very loyal employees. A generous 10% discount on all merchandise purchased in the store or on line and very big discount for special order merchandise. Most employees are very friendly and you will make a lot of new friends. Store morale is good, a pleasant work environment most of the time.

Cons

If you are a salaried manager: very physically demanding work, working about 60 hours per week, you will be working every national holiday, at least 5 days with 11 hour shifts, Lowe’s does not care about your education.

Pros

Working at Lowes as a sales specialist I get a higher hourly wage than I could find at almost any other job for my age and experience. As a bonus, commision rates are decent and definately supplement your paycheck.

Cons

A lot of the times you don't get the support you need from management. At Lowe's you are expected to start with your direct supervisor if you need help with a problem and if you don't get anything from them you are expected to work your way up the chain. You tend to lose interest somewhere in this chain and can become verry unsatisfied and unmotivated. If you take it directly to the top, they will frown on you for not taking it to your direct supervisor. Also, as an added bonus They no longer work with school schedules because "corporate is getting stricter about schedules."
