Pros

Management is friendly and for part time work, the benefits of a 401K and stock purchase plan are great.

Cons

Training needs to be improved, and communication could use some work. It's retail, so weekends and holidays are prime work times and the management I've worked under has varied greatly from wonderful to horrible.

Pros

Lowes offers a decent amount of advancement opportunites from the team leader and department manager level. Moving into Zone and above may sometimes take a considerable amount of time depending on the area the Lowe's is located in. Lowes does offer a comprehensive selection of benefits from health and dental to retirement. The fact that they will allow you to accrue your sick, vacation and holiday time off from day one is a nice benefit.

Cons

Management quality from store to store defers greatly. Politics unfortunately appear to play a large role in a number of managers actually acquiring their position. There is no general feeling of true worth passed down from corporate to store level.

Pros

The wonderful thing about Lowe's is that it's not just about great products, it's also about great people. The Lowe's family is made up of thousands of individuals working to provides products and services at a fair price to customers. Good culture, fair pay, mostly good people. Fun activities on special days. Flexable schedule.

Cons

I really think they need to make sure that they have more staff in the stores, staff that actually cares about helping customers ands are knowledgeable about the products they sell. As for the corporate enviroment, complex enviroment when trying to get things done in IT. Too many contractors/consultants.
