Pros

Pay and benefits, plenty of overtime opportunities

Cons

Job security. I worked over 55 hours a week for 10 weeks straight and they let a lot of us go because they met their contract quota. They do not care about their employees only meeting contract dates. They will hire and fire you without notice.

Pros

This is a 2019 update of a 2017 review. Over the last two years most of the problems and advantages of Leonardo have remained the same, but the company has only got busier and looks to remain that way for some years to come. -The work is interesting and cutting edge. -Lots of opportunities as generally older workforce retire. -Low staff turnover apart from retirement. -Clever/Helpful colleagues. -Good premises - mostly built in the last 10-20 years. -Decent pension. -Good flexitime system (don't have to work Friday afternoons). -Some sites/businesses have very good prospects in an increasingly electronic battlefield. -Very busy in 2019 and for the next few years.

Cons

-Staff get a fixed annual salary increase based upon grade and salary. -10% of staff get a further performance based sum of £1000-£1500, but if you're in the top half of national pay for your grade it's a bonus rather than salary increase. -In a building full of clever people you have to be truly exceptional to progress financially once in a grade/job, and once at average salary you'll just get bonuses rather than pay rises. -Single pay structure across all of UK, leading to worse pay rises in southern sites where pay was previously higher. -No grade increases unless you apply for and get a advertised new role. -Company strategy beyond immediate business unit is unclear. -The company gets a new name every few years (Selex-SAS, Selex-ES, Selex-Galileo, Finmeccanica, Leonardo)

Pros

Lots of opportunities to learn

Cons

Poor career pathing. While you will be able to do many things and learn different things it is rather difficult to move up.
