Pros

None I can think of. There are plethoras of interpretation/translation agencies mushroomong in the US, and it this particular professional area it's an employee's market...

Cons

One major downside is ridiculously low pay rate for an over-the-phone interpreters. I have contracts with six other agencies, and LSA is definitely offering the lowest per minute rate. We, interpreters are here for money, not the charitable assignments...

Pros

Flexibility of the job and ok pay

Cons

I don't think they value the interpreter ; they don't realize that without us this business would not exist. They say they pay the 15th and 30/31 but because they send check you always recieve it the 21st and 6th of the months. I wish pay day was a fixed day or directed deposit. Make sure you negotiate higher pay, travel expenses or miliage in the beginning because you will never get a raise no matter how long you work for them. Research the pay of your language before you accept the offer.

Worth the people, not the pay.

Pros

Most of the people are very friendly and sweet, and lasting friendships can be found. The schedule is pretty flexible which helps.

Cons

Don't work here if you expect to support your family. This is a good summer job for college students but don't expect a career. For a company that makes millions, they sure have a lot of people who have to take second jobs just to live. If you're not management or a favorite of management you won't make it. Employees are expendable and management only cares about numbers, not the people who work hard to line their pockets.
