Pros
Data-driven culture. You get to access lots of business data that could be a good opportunity for those who are into driving actual business results. People from other departments are generally smart, you get to learn to see things from a different perspective. Recommend departments other than marketing though.
Cons
The team leader is easily influenced by emotions and lacks expertise in performance marketing and experience in an in-house environment. As a result, she struggles to make logical decisions or provide clear instructions. She frequently blames her teammates, whether it's due to challenges or her own negative mood. Instead of offering support during difficult times, she avoids taking responsibility and expects her subordinates to solve problems on their own, even if the problem arouse because of following her directions. Her behavior is unprofessional as she mixes personal matters with work-related issues. This is evident in a few ways: 1) she recruits her agency friends without going through the standard interview and case studies process, 2) she plays favorites and demonstrates bias towards specific teammates, causing a division within the team and negatively impacting morale, 3) she keeps changing meeting time last-minute because of her own personal schedule or just because she's not in the mood. To make matters worse, due to her lack of experience, she heavily relies on her chief-subordinate to make important decisions, effectively creating a situation where you have to report to two bosses. In short, there are numerous office drama that make it difficult to concentrate on your work. The team leader seems to crave attention and consider expanding her own clique as her personal achievement in the company.
