Pros

It is part of Koch Industries so benefits are good.

Cons

The company is run to satisfy the ego of David Koch. He promotes people who agree with him and almost no one is brave enough to disagree. When I was there, I saw a few people in management that went from being loved to hated by David Koch because they tried to make changes. It's the story of the Emperor has New Clothes. David Koch uses it as a toy factory to make a bunch of products that no one wants.

Pros

The MBM philosophy has been a huge help with this place, though it has its drawbacks. The ability to set your role within the company is nice, even if there are two exact positions you are able to craft your role into a specialized one if you want. There aren't any pay caps on positions, though you have to fight to get what you want.

Cons

Terrible training program, it's often laughed about around the offices from here to Wichita. You'll watch someone do your job for about a week and expected to master it on your own. Trust me, I'm all about learning but there are some specialized processes within Koch that you'll need mentoring with. The pay is probably below market, they think that their benefits are top notch but in Houston, TX....they are just about the norm. For a company that prides itself on a market based philosophy, they really need to realize not a their offices are in BFE Kansas, where they can name their own game. Management perceives a "manageable" load to mean your swimming under water. By this I mean, when you feel you are just completely swamped, have phone and email ringing off the hook, that's manageable to them. If this sounds great to you, this your place. Personally, I am all about working my butt off and proving my worth but this place doesn't value that kind of dedication.

We strive to offer a good working environment and a workforce with a high sense of integrity who have respect for themselves and others. Our compensation philosophy is "Pay for Performance", it is not based upon pay scales but rather on current market value and each individuals background and experience.
