Pros

Retail experience, both on a sales floor and on register, if you so choose, customer service experience, merchandising experience, etc. Fairly relaxed work environment. Show up, do your work, and you'll be fine. Somewhat flexible hours.

Cons

Poor compensation. Start at minimum wage, and never receive a raise. I have worked here for two years, have a great record, have been told I am an "asset" to my department, and have not received a single raise. Not even a lousy quarter. Same goes for promotions. Someone with less experience than me was chosen as Lead for my department simply because of availability, when I gladly would have opened it up in light of a promotion should they have asked me. On top of this, they will also promote without a raise. Who wants more responsibility without more pay? Terrible communication of company policies, which, by the way, like to change every couple of weeks. Managers play favorites. There are pets, rejects, and those who just slip between the cracks.

Pros

- fast paced - easy to shine if you do well

Cons

- because you are "salary" apparently they can work you whatever hours to suit "business needs." This translates to lots of hours, especially during inventory or holiday (48 hours on paper, more like 50 on average, 55+ during holiday/inventory mode) for an assistant store manager - expectations are sometimes completely unrealistic - stressful/lots of pressure at times
