Pros

- The associates treat you like family. They are very accepting and caring - Other than cashiering, you have a lot of independence. You are given a set of tasks to complete during your shift, but you can approach them however and whenever you want before your shift is over - Double time and a half for full time employees on holidays - Wage freeze. No one has gotten a raise in 3 years

Cons

- Long hours - Must work weekends and holidays - They refuse to turn on the air conditioning in summer - Corporate management does not care - You are set up to fail because you are not given the resources you need to complete the job - Most stores are extremely outdated and look dingy & dirty - VERY slow, outdated computer systems and RMUs

Pros

It was a job that paid me for my time.

Cons

I was a sales associate, and worked with two types of people: those who had been there for years and knew what they were doing, and those who were young kids who didn't care at all. Management seemed to look at their positions as a launch pad for the rest of their career, and didn't care too much about what people did during their shift. It was not a very supportive or challenging environment.

Pros

There was a great culture among managers and associates. Everyone usually got along and tried to make the most of the resources that were available. There is great incentives for the cashiers.

Cons

The work life balance is completely non existant. As an exempt employee you are told you will be only scheduled at 48 hours but that is not true. You are there almost 60 hours a week minimum, and I am not exaggerating. Before I started working there I saw people kept saying this and rode it off, but it is true. I couldn't stay there longer than 6 months. You're always tired, its disorganized and you feel like you live there. It is really not worth it unless you dont care to have a life.
