Pros

Occasionally enjoyed working for company, management was kind for the most part as well as coworkers. Parents were kind and center was kept clean. Most classrooms are well organized as well as the curriculum teachers have to follow. Great position for those that are starting out in Early Childhood, the company also has great benefits (medical, dental and eye insurance). Do not have to work weekends!

Cons

Beware that you may have to take curriculum and materials home with you to work on, it is against company policy however teachers are rarely given "prep" time to prepare curriculum, hang art projects as well as organize classroom. Ratio is quite large (1:4 infants, 1:7 toddlers/twos, 1:10 preschool/prep 1:15 school age) so environment can get extremely stressful at times. Majority time I worked for the company, we were short staffed and teachers were expected to stay longer as well as work more hours. Sometimes felt under appreciated by management and coworkers. As for benefits Holidays and personal time off are paid however, the company chooses a random week (per year) to determine how many hours each employee gets. Therefore, if you were sick that week and only worked 30 hours, then you would get 30 hours of personal time and 30 hours of vacation for that whole year. Some teachers I worked with were extremely upset about this because this type of situation occurred. Very poor communication between management, coworkers and parents. The center I worked at, parents have left to go elsewhere because of this issue.

Not a good place to work

Pros

The pros would be the children and my coworkers (some) The little ones were the reason I went back everyday! And with the help of some wonderful coworkers, I enjoyed my time there.

Cons

This company is not a good company to work for. The main concern is money money money! Teachers hours are constantly cut down along with getting paid pennies. We were expected to do so much with VERY little help from our director. She is one of the most unsupportive "bosses" I have ever had to work with. The director almost never had a positive thing to say to any of the teachers and was mainly filled with negative and critical comments. Teachers concerns were not taken seriously and sometimes brushed off and teachers were left to struggled amd pushed to they're limits.

Balancing work and life separating home and work...knowing to leave work at work and home life at home.
