Pros

Awesome kids and families! Great co-workers! I've been given lots of opportunity to move up the pay scale. They take care of their long-term employees...worth it to stay with the company, if you're in a great center!

Cons

Every center is run differently. Each center is only as good as their staff and admin. Some centers are run efficiently and kept clean and always follow DAP (developmentally appropriate practices) while others run by the skin of their teeth. The center I'm at now is a prime example of that. Moving children DAILY to accommodate ratios, and putting older children back into younger classrooms. Parents get very upset by this! Understaffed, never out on time, zero communication between admin and teachers. We are expected to run our curriculum smoothly, but rarely have supplies we need. I wish I hadn't left my last center, but I moved and had no choice.

Pros

Great co-workers. Really fun, kind, hardworking people. It's nice working for a mission-driven company knowing that so much of what you do everyday is ultimately for the good of children in our centers. Sometimes folks are allowed to be promoted or moved into other roles within the company, which is nice.

Cons

Constant organizational change. Unexpected, frequent lay-offs that make no sense. Literally the worst benefits of any company I've ever worked at (despite how frequently they boast of great benefits and an "engaged" staff). For example, there are only 10 vacation days and they force you to take 5 of them during Christmas week. No paid maternity leave.
