Pros

I thought the company had great curriculum, it was completely laid out for the teachers. As well as that, there are great kids that I had the privilege to teach.

Cons

The company is downright cheap; I have gone months with not receiving the supplies I needed to implement the curriculum. As well as that, the food is crap that they feed the poor children! There have been numerous meals where they serve cheese tortillas, mac and cheese with beans, and burnt cheese pizza. I think that every meal should have meat, they claim that 'cheese' is considered a protein and therefore qualifies as a meat product. They also have a policy for overtime; they do not allow it. Although we have lost 5 full-time employees over the course of 4 months, they have only hired 1 person (in which did not help because I put in my two weeks). Even though they are incredibly short staffed, the management (who are paid salary) covers staffs breaks over the nap time period and will tell them to break for anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, just to avoid paying their staff overtime. When confronting the district manger about this issue, she told me that they were looking out for their staff, trying to make sure they are not overworked. However, what the district manager did not seem to understand is that they should simply hire more staff so that staff can work strictly 9 hours per day (including a one hour break). I do not want to come in at 7:30, to simply be told to take a break for 2 hours, and then have to work until close. The last issue that I had was the cleanliness of the center, in the past couple months we had mice. When the exterminator came in to catch the mice, he said he would rate the center at a C- for cleanliness and said the health inspector would shut the daycare down if they were to see how dirty it was. It is the staffs responsibility overall to clean, on top of teaching the children, on top of doing laundry, on top of playing with the children (without being given any prep time to do any of these duties) and teachers are simply not paid enough to do all of that

Pros

The main pro is that you're doing good work for the children you're teaching. The families are also wonderful when you put effort into them

Cons

Bad management, bad corporate policies, low pay, no respect. Corporate will visit, make a short little statement about how you're the heart of the company, then leave. Your director will be miserable along with almost everyone around you. Teachers have no prep time, no perks whatsoever

Pros

Supportive Staff Members, The children as a whole

Cons

unorganized stressful environment that makes the job as a whole chaotic. Not enough training for curriculum as well as for children who have special need. Constantly moves children around to keep within ratio. Not enough time given as well as materials to plan lessons
