Pros

Variety of work and the reward for good work is more work

Cons

Bureaucratic structure, everyone in the senior management tries to put blame on juniors and juniors also learn from that, very low pay, management always try to portray that they are in a very bad financial state

Struggling and sad consulting division

Pros

Some great, super smart people who are highly dedicated to doing great work. Good clients, big brands and senior interaction.

Cons

It’s a research and data company. They have some once brilliant brand and marketing consulting businesses (Added Value, Futures Company, Glendinning) but these are in a badly managed decline under the bigger ‘Kantar’ umbrella that is focussed on selling research, data and technology systems. If you love brand strategy work this isn’t the place anymore. Toxic, sales focussed culture where the senior team is only valued for delivering revenue, not great work or developing the team. This is felt by the junior team as their happiness and job satisfaction plummets every year. People are overworked and underpaid with little or no bonus or pay rises in 5 years. Starting salaries are also being pulled ever lower and that’s weakening the cabinet of people they can attract. The only big salaries go to ‘rainmaker’ new biz folks who don’t even really understand what they are selling. At best it’s become overly political, at worst toxic and back stabbing.

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

Leadership, incompetent people who suck up and walk over others are promoted over those who genuinely work hard. Rampant racism
