Toxic Environment in Membership Department

Pros

Great colleagues, large bright office, great tea selection in kitchen. Apart from the member services department, the company appears to be good to work for, with a good relaxed atmosphere in the rest of the office.

Cons

Bullying behaviour among management in the membership services team. Ever since a new manager started, the atmosphere has become very negative. Ridiculous levels of supervision as new manager does not trust her team. New rules are made practically every day. No eating at the desk. Team members have to check in with manager before they take a break. It's like being back at school. :-((

Flexible start times each day between 6:30-9:30am

Cons

The pay is far less than the workload they put on you. Don't expect to get a clear answer from management regarding anything. Additionally, the management in general are beyond incompetent, and you will always be told they don't know, or they're not the right person to talk to, etc. The buck is always being passed around and no one has the courage in management to own responsibility for anything. They've been outsourcing to India and downsizing a lot over the last 6 months, so don't be surprised if you're let go without warning.
