Pros

Kansas State University offers many excellent benefit options. One of the more impressive benefits is the tuition credit offered every semester. Employees can take up to 3 credits, per semester free, not including fees or dues. Dependents and spouses can apply for a grant that gives then free tuition as well.

Cons

There are so many politics that employees are exposed to. Even though policies are in place to deter hostile work experiences, it still oocurs and can make some employees feel unsafe. It also is very common for unfair or unwarranted blame to be placed on others when office support staff and contract managers are not completing their responsibilities. In some positions, unrealistic expectations are placed on employees setting them up for failure and putting them in positions where there is no reasonable way for their responsibilities to be met.

Pros

Kansas Statw offers good health insurance options. That's it.

Cons

Where do I begin? This center does not follow licensing rules at all. I'm honestly surprised they have stayed open this long. This was the dirtiest center I have ever worked in. There are maybe 4 teachers in this building that truly care about the chiren. They put on everything for show. I asked the director why I never see teachers reading to children and she claims "we don't believe in group reading". I have seen teachers walk away from changing tables while children are on them, teachers let children play outside for hours when it is over 95 degrees outside, and teachers let children share tooth brushes. It was not an accident either. I brought up multiple concerns to the directors and she didn't even bat an eye. It was mind blowing what goes on in that place. Early childhood is my future and I was not going to stay there and risk it. On top of that I have never had a center play so low either.
