Pros

Karl Storz makes phenomenal products and they have a very personable and talented sales and marketing staff. Charlie and the departments that report in to him are excellent!

Cons

Karl Storz is a privately owned family company with headquarters in the forest in Germany. Germany and Germans run this company and they never let you forget it! The Germans know everything and take little to no advice from non-Germans when it comes to just about anything! The culture is all about Germany! Ownership and upper management in departments outside of sales and marketing are completely disconnected to markets outside of Europe. In general it’s a sausage party, even though the company was run by a woman for decades there are very few non-German women in leadership roles outside of sales and marketing. This is not a place for any woman or any other type of minority to excel or grow in their career outside of sales and marketing (because those positions report up to Americans).

Pros

Benefits are ok, salary is ok but not equally paying different gender /race. Really depends who you know from management

Cons

This company operates as a frat house in real life. Executives consist of all white boys club who have no filter when addressing female coworkers or even lower management. There is NO career paths there unless you're the favorite child. Doesn't matter what you accomplish it matters who do you brown nose. There is a ridiculous disaraty when it comes to salaries - people doing the same job having 20-30% gap in pay. RUN! There is absolutely no moral left there. Management is operating under the rule "it's my way or the high way". There is NO teamwork - everyone works in silos and trying to backstab you.

Pros

Decent pay Good benefits options Yearly (one-time) $1200 bonus

Cons

High turn over rate due to management not nurturing relationships with employees and treating talented employees like mules and the reasons outlined below: -Management is inexperienced and lack leadership skills -System (SAP) is outdated and processes are painfully(!!) manual. Even when the department attempts to update processes, it's another step added to your day to day making it time consuming and redundant -You will work hard and get no reward. Your rewards will be Kudos (this does not translate in the real professional world and does not make your resume stand out), and occasional comments about how upper management appreciates your hard work. Its insulting. So why not provide such hard worker a respectable raise if you appreciate your hard workers? This is a business relationship, give hard workers respectable raises. -Account coordinators/Case managers are overworked. Everything is focused on numbers. They have limited time to manage their regions while taking queue calls, manage orders/complaints and maintaining relationships with their sales reps, etc. This is exacerbated since KS CS is understaffed -You will get promoted only if you complain enough, threaten to leave the company, or have seniority. Promotion is rarely based on merit -Career progression is incredibly slow with limited growth opportunities. If you are serious about career progression, do NOT join CS department (I cant speak for other departments). Development of their people is not a priority. The Director can also block you from moving to other departments -This is a privately owned company, the company focus is making sales, meeting quotas and bookings -Many gaps between CS and other cross-functional groups, and these gaps will not close. so you are forced to adapt causing long delays, impacting our customers, Sales team, and getting things done efficiently
