Great Benefits - Conservative Culture

Pros

Great benefits (medical, dental, etc.). Many people have worked there for a decade or more - if you do your job well and work hard, you will generally be taken care of. Privately owned so insulated from mass layoffs that come with public companies.

Cons

It's a boys club. Very, very few women in leadership roles and if they are, they are paid less with smaller titles than their counterparts. Very limited upward mobility at headquarters for men or women. Just not set up for growth and career development. Not savvy at all when it comes to embracing modern technology/meeting market expectations.

A good job but not a career

Pros

Clean, good benefits, high regard for good behavior. Profanity and sexual language not allowed. Safety is important.

Cons

Promotions are few and far and typically only for the sales and marketing teams. Middle managers have been either hired or promoted that do not possess the much needed people skills and leadership skills to solve the problems that arise in a competitive medical market. Then all the workers are expected to endure their bad behaviors and lack of leadership.

Pros

The pay and benefits are the best part about working here. You will also find a very diverse human culture here as well with people from several different countries working together.

Cons

The culture of the company is very much like high school. If you're part of the "popular clique" you have amazing opportunities to advance in your career. You are also almost immune to any wrongdoing. If you are not part of the "popular clique" you will be scapegoated at every opportunity. You will be held back from career advancement, and you will watch as those around you with less experience and more charisma rise to meet goals you once held for yourself.
