Pros

The 401k is a great and the flight benefits, of course.

Cons

They talk about being a “family”, but the way they treat employees is far from a family atmosphere. I couldn’t get out of this place fast enough.... they are brutal to new employees, being at the their JetBlue University is more like being in jail than it is a training facility. Lots of favoritism and “groups” exist. It’s a lot like being in high school where you have “popular” groups and the “not so popular group”. If you’re not part of the popular group you will be picked on relentlessly.

Pros

If I ever save enough to go anywhere, I can fly for free. Profit sharing helps make up for the lack of hourly wage. Lift awards are nice, we can get gift cards every now and then, which is also nice since I can hardly afford to go out to dinner. When everything goes well, it’s a really easy and fun job. I like some of the people I work with.

Cons

Delays and cancellations. This job is making me hate people. Airlines can’t control A LOT of what makes their customers angry, but maintenance they can control. Airport ops employees are on the bottom of the totem pole and have to deal with the most crap. The environment can turn to extremely negative in seconds, and the crew members have to be the face of it all. We lack a proper support system during delays and cancellations and we do not make anywhere close to the amount of money we should. Rebooking customers as they scream at you in groups of 50+ Stuck with yourself and two other people to handle a flight of 150 people that have been stuck in your city for hours.

Pros

Very flexible with the work schedule. Flight benefit package is great. Good culture and people. Lots of room to move up within the company.

Cons

Management at the local level needs improvement. There is no sick time. Calling out sick will go against you and use up your Paid Time Off(PTO). You will get an occurrence for calling out sick which I think is ridiculous.
