Pros

This is the best work environment I've ever had, without question. As a software engineer, this job has everything I could ever hope to want. There are the "typical" startup perks like amazing snacks, constant catered lunches, electric standing desks (and some treadmill desks available for use), gym membership, beautiful offices, etc. But the culture here is also fantastic. There is a strong focus on learning; we have tech talks every week, and I'm constantly engaging in spirited and educational discourse with my colleagues. There is no "pay your dues" hierarchy, everyone is just trying to support one another and build cool things. Plus, we do all of our programming in F# and use shiny new tools and that makes me feel happy and employable for the future. Seriously, I have never had a job before where I actually looked forward to coming to work. The C-suite team (and all managers) seem to be very friendly and approachable and care about us grunts. The company culture is very transparent in all aspects (salary structure, financials, decision making, etc). No complaints about my day-to-day at all.

Cons

I know they are trying to patch things up, but the HR/talent team needs to get their act together. Every time I go to the interview pages here on Glassdoor it irritates me to no end that we lose candidates because someone didn't respond to an email. THIS SHOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER happen. I guess I can only speak for the tech side of things, but if you are a software engineer looking to join Jet, DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY UNRESPONSIVE RECRUITERS. It happens ALL the time! Just keep on emailing and be persistent. Find non-traditional ways of contacting employees if you have to. Yes, it's sad that you as the candidate have to take that measure, and hopefully it won't be the case for long, but please know that that behavior is not an accurate reflection of the way the company is run.

Love your great comments, thanks for the feedback. Our tech team really pushes the bar when it comes to learning new technologies and helping each other grow. Glad you look forward to each day. As for our recruiting team, we have put much more focus on getting better with added team members and processes focused on tech side of things. As you know hiring engineers is a little different from business hiring. We've seen much improvement in the last month and hope to get even better from here, but please do hang in there. I can't speak directly for the warehouse, but trust they are doing all they can to make things right, we want all of Jet to be the best place to work and as a collective management team it's our job to make sure that happens. - Mike Hanrahan, CTO
