"More similar to a cult than a company", this title summarizes what this company is, and can explain all the positive comments you will find, most of all the ones referring to the culture. You are either a member of this cult or you are not. There is no half-mesures.
There are many clues that reveal a toxic culture: micromanagement, favouritism, blaming culture, people stressed out and overwhelmed... However, they will alway refer to the "Codex", keeper of the company's values, but it's no more than a dead letter.
The middle management is not there to help you overcome the challenges that you will have to deal with in your journey. They are there to ensure that you accomplish with the target that you have been assigned to, no matter what. And I've been direct witness of this. If you're looking for an "employee-first" company, this is definitely not the right choice.
My last advice is that you better do the effort to review the bad comments (as the good ones, in this kind of companies, you can imagine they come from internal campaigns to green the image), and try to reflect if you would be able to work in an environment like this. Then you make your decision.
