Pros

Used to be very flexible

Cons

Flexibility gone. Fired for taking time off for death in immediate family/ experiencing heart attack at work/severe mental illness. Staff suicide is well above average. Can be penalised without notice. Shifts cancelled without notice.

Pros

The UX team has some of best talent in the industry, level leadership, and a reasonably healthy work culture (for a team of consultants).

Cons

This is a huge multinational research firm. As such, it suffers from many of the telltale issues of companies in that category. The bottom line for me was the unbalanced hours. Every project is across 2+ time zones (often either pacific time or international) and that results in a sort of on call kind of situation at all times. Some of this is par for the course for consultants, just calling that out. Burnout is so common that it happens in cycles, not just occasionally. It wasn’t for me.

Pros

People and the friendships you make Foundational experience for recent college graduates

Cons

Low salary vs competitors Lack of transparency from leadership Managers/leadership are not supportive or helpful No boundaries when it comes to the “client first” mentality NA CEO tries to justify issues that could be better handled High turnover, many people leave after a few years Extremely long work hours/no work life balance, many people end up working on their days off (weekends, holidays, PTO days) and managers let it happen Lack of growth opportunities and career development unless you enjoy being stagnant and doing the same thing
