Pros

I started here at a very entry level and have been here for over 7 years now. I am now at an intermediate manager level and have been extremely satisfied with the vast portfolio of experience I have gained, in comparison to my colleagues that I graduated school with.

Cons

It is very fast-paced and things change almost on a minute to minute basis. It is not uncommon to work late and longer hours; however, they have programs to help with work/life balance such as summer hours, where we get to take every other Friday afternoon off, provide laptops to work from home, etc.

Pros

Interesting job with good people. In some ways it is a job that is what you make of it and there is potential to grow in the organization.

Cons

Management acts like they own you - there is no work-life balance other than lip service paid to the concept. Corporate culture is officially "work hard, play hard" but in reality it is "work forever, play never". Staff who leave are never replaced as hiring freezes abound. You are expected to be on call 24/7 and check emails and go on calls when you are on vacation or out for an evening. There is a complete lack of training, and HR assistance is non-existent. Long hours are pretty much guaranteed and no overtime means that Ipsos profits on you being "salaried" while your personal and family life suffers with no compensation. Pay is also lower than other places, and internal pay structure isn't elastic or based on performance but how good you negotiate at the start of your career. No team spirit within departments - teams will pretend to be busy rather than help others. Unrealistic demands are applied by a management who apparently are unable to comprehend that if you sell projects, you then have to devote time to completing them.

Great colleagues, but management has no clear vision

Pros

Great colleagues, Mostly interesting research projects, easy access to an international network of research specialists, that will support and give you advice on proposals or reports

Cons

Salary is below average, although workload is way too much at times. Unless you're in the in-crowd with middle/upper management, growth opportunities are very limited. Management and middle management tell completely different stories and lack a clear vision.
