Pros

Hours are incredibly flexible and the colleagues are wonderful people to work beside and very open and friendly. It's a great place to recommend to friends who need work but not as a permanent solution. Ipsos is a job, not a career.

Cons

I have been working at Ipsos for over three years now and have noticed that moving up through pay-grades or job ranks seems to be based almost entirely on how often you spend time with your superiors in a social setting. There are a huge number of very skilled researchers who have been working consistent hours and are still at entrance level in regards to pay and job responsibility. Considering the high-volume demand of the work and the long hours demanded the pay is really very low. Low level employees are also treated with a shocking lack of respect by superiors who seem to believe that those below them are intellectually inferior and will often make patronizing comments. It can take over a year before you really start to feel that your presence is appreciated and you can turn to supervisors for help. As for the interviews themselves, they are often ridiculously lengthy, repetitive and needlessly invasive. In many situations where we require postcodes we have also recently been pushing for house numbers which can put people at ill-ease (understandably). There are many instances where instructions and demands from clients are impossible or take away from the quality of the work and many questions are not needed and add pointlessly to the length of a survey that the participant may only dubiously wish to take part in.

Pros

The compensation and benefits are probably the only good thing about working at Ipsos. There is no such thing as work-life balance and one is expected to work any day at any time, including on vacation.

Cons

While the Ipsos name on a CV generally evokes positive feelings, my experience proves that it's hardly amazing to work at this company. The list of cons is extensive: - Incompetent line managers who are unable to work with teams, let alone taught how to manage them - No transparency beyond the team - team directors get away with murder and nobody notices. - No support for people development, constant criticism and a complete lack of encouragement and acknowledgement of employees. - Slapped on the hands if not seen to speak to certain people at the frequency at which directors expect it to happen. - There is a lack of autonomy in almost every task any person is expected to perform. They need to consult at least 2 other/more senior people before a decision is made to act. Needless to say, this causes tremendous delays and endless discussions which ultimately affects clients. - Total lack of cooperation between departments, every unit works as a silo and is after their own targets without actually willing to help departments that depend on them. - Clients' interests are not at all on the agenda. There is an extraordinary amount of internal politics. - Impossible to take any time off for about 5 months every year due to heavy workload. Total lack of knowledge in resource management and employees made to beg for days off each year. - Senior management very far removed and uninterested in what actually happens below them. They all want to appear as being friends and to be seen as research experts but they are really not, they rely heavily on those underneath them for that. What they are good at is politics. - HR staff turnover is very high due to which they are not of any help.

Pros

They treat you very nicely

Cons

They will take your all round of interviews and then they will select you with joining date and then will refuse to recognise you. Total a time waste. It happened both with me and my project lead . We had to prepare for all round of interviews for case stufy and wasted our time.
